Rehabilitation counsellor · drama & movement therapist · Gurugram

What you can't say,
you can show.

Some feelings refuse to sit still for conversation. Drama and movement therapy gives them a stage — masks, movement, scenes, play — with a trained therapist holding the script nobody has to read aloud.

The studio

A room where the body
is allowed to answer.

Ms. Dargan's practice brings together rehabilitation counselling — the steady, structured work of recovering function and meaning after illness, injury, or life change — with the expressive arts: drama therapy and movement-based work that reach what conversation circles around.

She practises in Gurugram, in rooms with enough floor to move and enough quiet to land. Her associations include Maarga Mind Care and Vita Nova. confirm current affiliations

Who the room is for

  • Adults whose feelings arrive as body-first — tension, shutdown, restlessness
  • Children and teens who do better showing than telling confirm ages served
  • People in rehabilitation — rebuilding after illness, injury, loss
  • Anyone who has said "I know why I feel this way — knowing doesn't fix it"

The method

Drama therapy, briefly —
and without the tights.

You will not be asked to perform. Drama therapy uses the instruments of theatre — role, story, mask, scene, movement — as clinical tools. The point is never the acting; the point is what the acting lets out safely.

  1. Warm-up. Breath, gesture, a game. The nervous system decides it's safe before the mind is asked anything.
  2. The work. A scene from your week, played gently sideways. A mask that says what your face can't. A movement repeated until it changes. sample structure
  3. The landing. Talking it through — because insight still matters; it just isn't the only door.

Evidence for drama and movement-based therapies is strongest where words alone stall: trauma held in the body, chronic illness adjustment, and the emotional load of rehabilitation.

Your first session

No audition.
No audience.

Entr'acte 1

You arrive as you are

Tired, sceptical, curious, clenched — all welcome states. Shoes off if you like; the floor is part of the room.

Entr'acte 2

The check-in

Some of it spoken, some not. You can draw it, shrug it, or place it somewhere in the room. Yes, really.

Entr'acte 3

One small experiment

A movement, a scene, a mask — sized to your comfort. You can stop anything with a word or a hand.

Entr'acte 4

The landing

Tea-temperature conversation about what moved. You leave with the room, not a performance review.

Questions

From the wings.

"I'm not creative / I can't act."

Neither is required. This is not theatre training; the exercises are built for exactly the people who fear them. If you can walk in and sit down, you have all the skill needed.

Is this 'real' therapy?

Drama therapy is a recognised creative-arts modality; Ms. Dargan's foundation is rehabilitation counselling. The creative work is structured, assessed, and reviewed like any clinical method. sample answer

Children?

Play is a child's first language — drama therapy often fits children better than talk therapy. Confirm current age-groups when booking. confirm

Online sessions?

Some movement and scene work adapts well to video; some needs the room. Ask when booking — you'll get an honest answer per concern. confirm
